Rare, Royal Doulton, children's bowl can be used for display or as a catch-all for baby supplies. The Bunnykins were first introduced in 1934, and this is one of the earliest editions as evidenced by Barbara Vernon's signature. The bowl depicts a lovely scene of a young gentleman bunny doffing his tophat when greeting a shy young lady bunny. He is wearing a plaid frock coat, red polka-dot ascot, and blue trousers while she is wearing a patterned gown and a flowing red coat adorned with white trim and a hand muff. They are surrounded by bunnies bouncing through the grass. Bunnykins were especially popular because they were used by Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret. The bowl has the double backstamp c. 1937-1953. There is some crazing which can be expected for a piece of this age and use. Due to lead glaze, not recommended for food use. Measures 6in wide by 1.5in tall.
