A distinctive pair of vintage McGuire San Francisco curved side tables or stools, crafted in oak with richly patterned faux burl wood veneer inset tops. Each wedge-shaped piece has a gently bowed front and curved lower stretcher; placed side by side, the pair creates a sculptural demilune form. Their compact scale works beautifully beside a sofa or lounge chair, while the pair can also be separated as matching accent tables or occasional stools. The warm wood and graphic burl-patterned tops suit Mid-Century Modern, organic modern, California modern and collected interiors.
An independently documented matching pair of McGuire demilune tables/stools—with the same 17" × 12" × 19" dimensions, oak construction and faux burl inset tops—is currently offered by a vintage furniture dealer for $2,000, highlighting the collectability and distinctive design of this McGuire form.
