A handsome vintage covered serving dish by Friedman Silver Company of Brooklyn, New York, featuring a classic oval form, gadrooned borders and decorative loop handles. The Friedman crest mark and number 3176 identify the maker and form number, while the bright silver-plated finish gives the piece a traditional formal-table look. Designed for serving vegetables, side dishes or casseroles, the two-piece form also displays beautifully on a buffet, holiday table or dining-room sideboard. The fitted upper piece can be removed for serving, and the coordinated gadrooned detailing gives both pieces a polished, cohesive appearance.
