A striking large blue footed art glass centerpiece bowl with a broad, shallow profile and clear glass pedestal base. Measuring nearly 14 inches across, its minimalist sculptural form and combination of saturated blue and clear glass have a distinctly Scandinavian Modern, Mid-Century Modern feel. The bowl makes an impressive centerpiece for a dining table, coffee table or console and is beautiful displayed on its own or styled with decorative objects.
DETAILS
• Large footed art glass centerpiece bowl / compote
• Transparent blue glass bowl
• Clear glass pedestal foot
• Broad, shallow sculptural profile
• Scandinavian Modern / Mid-Century Modern style
• No visible maker's mark, signature or label
• Approximately 13.75" D × 4.75" H
• Maker and origin unconfirmed
Research identified documented Gullaskruf glass designed by Kjell Blomberg using a similar combination of dark blue glass and a clear footed base. Because this example is unsigned and its exact form has not been documented, we cannot confirm a Gullaskruf or Blomberg attribution and are offering it as maker unknown.
CONDITION
Good pre-owned condition with no chips or cracks. There is visible water/mineral-type staining or cloudiness around the interior of the bowl, along with light surface wear consistent with previous use. The staining is most apparent under certain lighting and is shown closely in the photos. Please review all photos for condition details.
