The portable wood chest is reinforced with extensive brass strapping and corner mounts and fitted with a brass front hasp, dark metal side carrying rings, hinged lid and an interior side compartment. The wood appears consistent with teak, a material commonly used in Anglo-Indian campaign furniture, but the exact species is unconfirmed. Compact enough to work as an accent or end-of-bed chest, it offers useful storage while bringing warm patina and collected character to traditional, British Colonial, global, eclectic or campaign-inspired interiors.
