Ornate gas parlor stove used during the Victorian era, to stylishly heat smaller rooms. Referred to as a "jeweled" heater due to the decorative, glass gems set into the four columns/chimneys. The jewels would light up and glow when the gas flames were lit. Produced by the Bridge & Beach Manufacturing Co., which was a prominent U.S. cast-iron foundry in St. Louis, Mo. known for its "Superior" line of stoves and ranges. The company was a major industry leader during the 19th-early 20th century. The original stove would have been black cast-iron or nickel-plated but has since been refinished in antique red with gold accents. We cannot verify if the stove was refinished using the correct, high-temperature paint or if the gas nozzle is functional and therefore recommend that the stove be used for decorative purposes. Please refer to the photos as they are part of the description. These are photos of the actual item; we do not use AI or photoshop. Approximately 21"H x 10"D x 20.5"W w/nozzle, 18.5”W w/o.
