Vintage English Copper Fireside Bucket With Original Patina

This substantial vintage English fireside bucket features a cylindrical copper or copper-alloy body, rolled rim, reinforcing band, and movable bail handle. Dating approximately to the mid-20th century, it has developed a richly weathered brown finish with dramatic blue-green verdigris throughout. Originally intended as a coal or kindling bucket, it would now make a characterful log holder, blanket bin, or decorative planter cachepot with an appropriate liner.

CONDITION
Fair vintage/pre-owned condition.
The bucket has extensive age-appropriate surface wear, including darkened patina, blue-green verdigris, oxidation, scratches, scuffs, spotting, discoloration, and residue inside and out. Oxidation is especially pronounced around the lower edge, underside, hardware, and vertical body seam. The bucket remains an impressive decorative piece with its bail handle and principal components present. It has not been tested for water tightness and is not recommended for food use. Use a waterproof liner and protective surface barrier if displaying it with plants.
