A beautiful Chinese Ming-style side table featuring a richly weathered dark brown top, warm honey-toned wood frame, and intricate carved scrollwork. Believed to be constructed of elmwood (yumu), this compact table showcases traditional Chinese furniture design through its exposed joinery, shaped stretchers, and decorative pierced aprons. The contrast between the worn dark tabletop and lighter wood base gives this piece remarkable character. Its narrow rectangular proportions make it a wonderful accent beside a chair, in an entryway, or as a display surface for pottery, books, and collected objects. The exact age and origin have not been independently authenticated.
