1985 Gedekes Iridescent Lace Impressed Studio Pottery Bowl

This distinctive vintage studio pottery bowl is signed “Gedekes” and dated Feb. 1985. Research points to Pacific Northwest artist Gerald Gedekes, whose documented work includes ceramics, although the first name is not written on this piece; we therefore attribute the bowl to him rather than presenting the attribution as definitive. The cream-colored bowl features intricate lace or textile impressions, an organically scalloped rim, and a luminous iridescent glaze that shifts through soft pink, green and gold tones. With its low, sculptural profile and highly textured surface, it works beautifully as a decorative centerpiece on a dining table, coffee table or console, or displayed with other collected studio pottery. The neutral cream ground and pearlescent finish suit eclectic, organic modern and collected-vintage interiors.

CONDITION
Very good vintage condition with no chips, breaks or other structural issues noted. Fine lines visible in the surface appear consistent with the bowl’s handmade finish/glaze rather than damage.
