A pair of Victorian Majolica(encaustic), tiles c.1860/1870. Glazed, relief-molded, dust-pressed clay with Minton & Co, Stoke-on-Trent, molded backstamp. The first tile depicts a griffin holding a bunch of grapes, the second a hippocampus(Greek mythological creature, 1/2 horse-1/2 fish), each with a patterned border and floral medallions in the corners.
