Often given as a wedding present, the older jade would be carved from a belt hook with an animal head and a flowing creature body. The silver-plated repousse back would be added to the handle, which has an intricate carving of a dragon surrounded by beautiful scrollwork. Circa late 1800's-early 20th century. Condition shows natural jade imperfections and wear consistent with age and use. Approximately 8.5" x 3.5" x 1.25"
