vintage-friedman-silver-co-silverplate-covered-vegetable-dish-3176
Vintage Friedman Silver Co Silverplate Covered Vegetable Dish 3176
A handsome vintage covered serving dish by Friedman Silver Company of Brooklyn, New York, featuring a classic oval form, gadrooned borders and decorative loop handles. The Friedman crest mark and number 3176 identify the maker and form number, while the bright silver-plated finish gives the piece a traditional formal-table look. Designed for serving vegetables, side dishes or casseroles, the two-piece form also displays beautifully on a buffet, holiday table or dining-room sideboard. The fitted upper piece can be removed for serving, and the coordinated gadrooned detailing gives both pieces a polished, cohesive appearance.

DETAILS
• Maker: Friedman Silver Company
• Type: Covered vegetable / serving dish
• Form number: 3176
• Silver-plated metal
• Oval two-piece construction
• Gadrooned borders
• Decorative loop handles on upper piece
• Friedman S F Co crest mark
• Made in the United States
• Working date: 20th century, before Friedman was acquired by Gorham in 1960
• Measures approximately 11.5" L × 9" W × 3" H
• Weight: approximately 2 lb 4 oz

CONDITION
Good vintage condition with normal surface and utensil scratches, tarnish and age-related finish wear from use and polishing.
